  Azra Maqsood
Deputy Director

Prior to her debut in the world of academics, Azra worked with a leading leasing company of Pakistan. She joined SZABIST in 1995 as an MBA Coordinator, and was further promoted as the Deputy Director SZABIST in 2001. With her core interests in leadership, strategic management, change management, organizational behavior, marketing, and communication Azra has conducted over 50 workshops with organizations like United Nations Office for Project Services (UNoPS), Habib Bank Limited, Pakistan Railways, So-Safe Water Technologies (Pakistan and UAE), Gandhara Nissan, Muslim Commercial Bank, First Womens Bank, Pakistan Navy and the Institute of Bankers in Pakistan. She has also supervised MS research studies in human resource development, organizational development, managerial communication, and customer services and care. She serves on the advisory board of AIESEC (Karachi); ASHOKA: Innovators for the Public (Pakistan); and on the Editorial Board of The Working Manager theworkingmanager.com




  Muhammad Nadeem

Muhammad Nadeem has been working as a Senior Faculty Member/Researcher and MSCS / MCS Coordinator at SZABIST since 1999. Prior to joining SZABIST he worked as Director Operation Information System with International Business Corporation ( South Korean Group ) Karachi. He is currently enrolled as a Ph.D. student at SZABIST doing Research in Business Intelligence Techniques in Data Mining. His research interests are Real Time Database specifically Object Oriented Technology, Business Process Reengineering, Capability Maturity Model, and Software Development and Testing etc.




 

Rashida Valika

Currently Rashida is serving as an Assistant Professor and Student Advisor at SZABIST. Before joining SZABIST, she had also served in different educational institutes of Pakistan. Conducting innumerable workshops such as "Speak Effectively", "Developing Language Skills", "Creative Writing", "Listening Skills", "Proficiency in English" and so on are suffice to prove her expertise. She has been conducting these workshops for reputable organizations and educational institutions in Pakistan which include the Bahria Foundation, Oxford University Press, Pakistan International Airlines, Muslim Commercial Bank, Teachers Resource Center, Judicial Academy, NIPA – Karachi/Quetta, KFC Pakistan, Institute of Bankers in Pakistan and The City School etc. Rashida Valika has been associated with the training and development of students, teachers, and professionals from various organizations and institutions all around Pakistan for over thirty years. Over the years, Ms, Valika has developed an expertise on the subject of Communication.

Dr. Amanat Ali Jalbani is a Senior Faculty member, Coordinator CMD and Coordinator MS/SS program. He is also involved in teaching at SZABIST Karachi, teaching postgraduates classes of M.S/Ph.D. and MBA Program. He was formerly Chairperson in the Department of Management Sciences at Isra University, and Professor & Chairman, Department of Commerce at S.A Latif University, Khairpur. He is HEC approved Supervisor and supervising M.Phil, and Ph.D. students of different Universities in Pakistan. He is a Member of various academic and non-academic bodies in and outside Pakistan. Dr. Jalbani is the author of over thirty research papers and articles published in journals of international repute in Pakistan and presented in different research conferences. He has also worked as an Assistant Editor of Commerce and Economic Review.




Syed Zeeshan Arshad

Knowledge and Information Systems, Internet Evolution, Web Semantics, Techno-sciences, Capitalism, Freedom, Enlightenment, Communicative Rationality and Post-modern philosophy.


Mr. Arshad did his BCS from FAST in 1993. He then completed BA(Hons.) in Philosophy, Psychology and Economics from Karachi University and in 1997 was awarded Gold Medal for his First class First position in MA Philosophy. In 2000, he earned another Gold Medal in MCS from SZABIST. He then completed MS/IT in 2005 and is currently enrolled in the Ph.D. program.

Mr. Arshad developed his reputation in the fields of both Information Technology and Social Sciences as a keen academician by having taught graduate and post-graduate students at prestigious universities like SZABIST, IBA and Karachi University. Prior to this he was technically and administratively involved in the setting up of Multimedia Research and Development Center and Nucleus Entertainment (a post-production facility) in Karachi. At SZABIST, Mr. Arshad has been responsible for the planning, development and monitoring of the Bachelors of Computing program at SZAIBST since 2001. In addition to this he has been supervising the BSc(Development & Economics) London External Program at SZABIST since 2005.

Mr Arshad has co-authored a book and also has a number of refereed journal publications to his credit. He performs in the capacities of software developer at ZabSolutions (the software wing of SZABIST) and as executive trainer at EDC (Executive Development Center, SZABIST). He is also a member of the Advisory Board of the PAF-KIET journal ‘Market Forces’ and a member of ACM, IEEE Computer Society and IEEE Technology and Society. He has also been panel member of VISION 2030 Ministry of Planning and Development, Govt. of Paksitan. Currently he is Assistant Professor Computing Sciences and BS Program Coordinator at SZABIST.

Mr. Arshad offers workshops in the areas of logical analysis (for general audience), managerial problem solving (for middle and higher management), professional and business ethical practices (for all professionals), technology innovation, design and implementation (for engineers and technologists) and history of ideas (for educationists and trainers).




  Dr. Mustaghis-ur-Rahman

Dr. Mustaghis-ur-Rahman is PhD in Management with a Master’s in Public administration. His topic of research for doctorate is “Management of NGOs: A case study in SAARC countries”. This is first ever awarded PhD degree in NGO Management in the world. His professional experience spans over a decade, working with public, private, and non-governmental organizations (NGOs)/Universities, as a program coordinator/manager, trainer, teacher and consultant. Dr. Mustaghis is a McGill University/LUMS certified trainer. He has conducted hundreds of training workshops and addressed a number of seminars in South Asia. Presently, he is a Senior Faculty Member at SZABIST and teaching here to Master’s and MS/PhD classes.

Dr. Mustaghis is actively involved in research and consulting on development and management issues. He is frequent contributor in Daily Dawn (English Daily) and refereed journals on social/human development and management issues. His two books; one on NGO Management, and the other on Public Administration in Pakistan, are at advance stage.

Dr. Mustaghis was nominated for the SAARC Award 2004 by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Government of Pakistan for his research work on NGO management. The award went to Late General Ziaur-ur-Rahman, Former President of Bangladesh. He is on the board of couple of NGOs.




  Asad Hussain
Deputy Director SZABIST Islamabad Campus

Asad Hussain initially worked at the British Deputy High Commission, Karachi as a Commercial Officer (1995-98). His main responsibilities included promotion of UK exports to Pakistan, preparing sector reports for the commercial section, and providing consultancy services to British companies.

Before joining SZABIST, Islamabad campus he has worked as MBA coordinator and a senior faculty member at SZABIST, Karachi campus (1998-03). Asad has over 40 research publications to his credit in the areas of macroeconomics, microeconomics and information technology. His research interests run from production management to good governance and economics of information technology. Sohailuddin Alavi

Sohail Alavi is a practicing Management Process Consultant. He has been associated with Corporate Consulting Group for the last many years. He has worked on consulting assignments in the government, and the corporate and social settings. He was consultant to UNDP (Women in Urban Credit Program) and Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (Micro Enterprise Financing). Mr. Alavi has been involved in institutional development and HRD. He has led many institutional-development assignments in diversified settings. He has delivered over 200 corporate training workshops, and he brings with him industry exposure of over 15 years. Prior to joining Corporate Consulting Group he worked for the United Bank as a management trainer for more than 10 years. He is an Associate of the Institute of Bankers in Pakistan, Adviser and Member Academic Council of the Institute of Banking and Finance, and adjunct faculty at SZABIST.
